DISTRICT 27-D1/WLF HEARING AID PROGRAM REPORT

Our Program Is Working Well, At This Time.......

• Since 7/1/09, we've received donations from 19 Lions Clubs & 2 Lioness Clubs. We ask Clubs for $4 per member, per year.
• 7 hearing aids have been approved with 1 aid paid by an outside source.
• 9 clubs agreed to reimburse the District for audiology fees. We ask $200 of local Clubs for each negotiated audiology fee.
• 1 Application approved for 2 aids is pending approval from 2 area Lions Clubs.
• 2 applicants (over the income limit) were denied a free aid but offered an aid pending $600 up front payment.
• 5 have been denied (1 over income limit, 1 with excessive assets & 3 with Medicaid coverage that will provide needed aids.)
• We ask for collection of used hearing aids statewide (sent to Lions Camp) saves us about $100 per hearing aid provided.
• Efforts to educated Lions, raise funds & encourage collection of used aids continue with Zone Meeting & Club presentations.

*Currently searching for a replacement for this chair because of expected election as 2nd VDG.
